Juan P. Garcia is the Director of Organizational Research Services for Employers Group, one of California’s oldest nonprofit employers’ association.  Among the many programs launched under his tenure, Juan P. Garcia, is the innovator behind California’s Best Places to Work. 

This program was developed to identify and recognized California’s best and most innovate employers.   He has been directly involved in hundreds of programs  to help businesses design and set competitive best practices relative to salaries, employee benefits, and general HR practices.

Mr. Garcia’s professional background includes a variety of research positions in compensation, HR, HRIS, benefits, and systems. He began heading the Employers Group Research Services Department in 1993.  Through his tenure with Employers Group, Mr. Garcia has expanded the department’s capabilities and business offerings including strategic alliances with major U.S. associations, leading to the production of national compensation reports, HR analytical tools, employee benefit reports, and production of the National Compensation Survey on IT Professionals.  Now in its 10th edition, this is one of the most highly regarded national compensation index of information technology classifications.  Over the last few years, Mr. Garcia has continued to expand Employers Group’s research program by adding organizational assessment services, including California’s Best Places to Work program.

Mr. Garcia has an extensive professional background in research methods, compensation, systems and HRIS. He holds a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from San Diego State University and a Master of Science in Organizational Psychology from California State University, Los Angeles. His academic research discipline is in management styles, situational leadership, and organizational assessments.  His professional affiliations include membership with WorldatWork and the Employers Association Group National Survey Committee.
